July 24 Wombats Report...Divisionals Week The last week of the summer swim season started as the first Wombat stepped foot onto the bus destined for Bethany Beach and ended as the last Wombat got into their car to go home after the 2011 Wildwood Manor Swim Team Banquet. In between, there were a number of big waves during the week… first in Delaware, where the waves were as big as the smiles on the faces of Wombats aged 6 through 18 (and older)… followed by the waves made by Wombat swimmers at the Regency Estates pool… and lastly the waves of accolades and recognition distributed at Walter Johnson High School to swimmers and parent volunteers that made the 2011 season possible...READ MORE Practices July 25-29 Practices will be held this last week from 9-10am for all age groups. Practice is mandatory for All-Star Relay teams and individual all-stars. Practice is open to all Wombats. If you want to keep your swimming going, join us for this last week. Last Monday Donuts too! July 18 Final Details for the Swim Team Banquet! This year's banquet will be held on Saturday, July 23rd at 6pm at WJHS. The food will be Southern Home Cookin' with separate select items for younger children. Vegetarian options will also be available. The price per person is $15 for adults and children aged 11 or older, $10 for children aged 4 to 10, and FREE for children aged 3 and younger. We are asking everyone to purchase their tickets online via WePay.com (with a credit card or bank transfer - no fees will be added). As such, the Minnows Meet will be held at 10am, Friday, July 22nd NOT July 15th. We apologize for any confusion there may have been about the dates of the Minnows Meet, but we want to make sure that all of the Minnows get the most out of all of their Minnows sessions prior to their first swim meet. Annual Bethany Beach Trip - July 20th Each year to celebrate the season and have some fun outside of our pool the swim team takes a day bus trip to Bethany Beach. The date this year is Wednesday, July 20th. We will leave the pool at 7 am and return to the pool by 9:00 pm the same day. All swim team and minnows are welcome to sign up but note that the bus does fill so if you want to go please sign up as soon as possible. As usual we will need lots of help from our older wombats. Parents of 11-18 year old wombats who are interested in helping with Minnows this year, please try to stick around after morning practice tomorrow for a meeting at 10 am with the coaches to discuss the plan for minnows pratices. If you can't come in the morning come a little early for the first minnows afternoon practice to get caught up on how you can help. Also, if you are interested in helping please let Lynn Ratnavale (trisportmama[@]yahoo.com) know as soon as possible if you intend to be a regular morning helper or an afternoon helper and how old you are so we can have a good idea of how many helpers we have.
